Peter Whent is a holder of the Queen’s Police Medal, for distinguished police service, a Bachelor of Law, Fellow of the Institute of Logistics and Transport and a Fellow of the RSA.

Peter Whent previously served in the police, in Essex County for 25years, and also 7 years with the British Transport Police, policing the railways Police in England, Scotland, Wales and the international cross border trains to France and Belgium . For 27 of those years he served as a Detective, in all ranks, rising to Head of CID (Detective Chief Superintendent) for a National Police Force, responsible nationally for over 400 detectives and served for his last 12months as the Assistant Chief Constable (Operations)

- Assisted preparation of reports for a Rail Public Enquiry
